One of my good friends from school, Matt, ended up in one of the most random jobs ever, but he seems to be really happy. All the way through college he worked at a lumberyard, and the summer after graduation he got a job working in a hardware store. I guess the owner really liked how hard he worked, and how quickly he learned, because he was soon the manager of the store. Eventually the owner decided to retire, and offered to sell the hardware store to Matt. Now Matt peddles everything from end mills to saws and everything in between. His store is actually not far from where I live, and whenever I need to go to the hardware store, I go to his store. It is nice to have somebody you know so well there to help you and offer you advise. I definitely trust and respect his expertise. What is even better, a lot of times he will come help me around my house with my projects, because he is so handy, and such a good friend. I never really thought that Matt would end up with his own hardware store, but I am glad that he is happy doing what he is doing.
